How to stop iphone camera from always going back to photo?

My iPhone's camera app keeps closing after I exit it! What should I do for all my settings not to fade off? How to stop iphone camera from always going back to photo?

What you need is to close the camera app in the right way.

Steps to keep your camera settings app when iPhone camera app keeps closing:

  1. Open your "Settings" app on your iPhone (the gears icon).
  2. The next step is closing the Camera app but not exiting it completely. To do this hold down the button on top of your phone which you use for taking pictures and slide it off to the left. When camera app was closed on your iphone successfully you should close your camera app without clearing any of its settings! But wait... what about exiting? That's quite easy actually!
  3.  Press down on that same button once more and slide it back to the right like before. So now, just press Home button and you've got both your iPhone camera settings app saved as well as the Apple Camera app itself!

Note: Holding down that same button for a few seconds will take a picture. To do that, hold it for about 2 seconds or more.

Preserve iPhone Settings

Moreover “Preserve Settings” menu is also available in the Apple Settings Menu, which does exactly what it promises. The “Preserve Settings” option is provided for all your third-party Camera apps and will preserve settings iphone whenever you close and turn them on.

And again: Closing the camera app by sliding to left and right can be done in 2 ways: Either by holding down on the button OR pressing Home button.

IPhone camera app resetting after exiting

An iPhone's camera app resetting after exiting is a very common problem among iPhone owners. There are several different ways of how people try to fix this problem, but most of them don't work or just produce temporary results. Video mode on iPhone is another app that can be closed by sliding to left and right. If you want to keep your video camera settings after closing the Video app, follow the steps further.

First of all, open up "iPhone camera settings app" on your iPhone screen, then scroll down until you see "Photos & Camera". Press on it. The next step is to press on "Video Mode", so it says ON/OFF next to it. Last but not least close the Video app by pressing its turn on button once more and swiping it to the left. Now all your settings are saved!

Note: These steps work for Videos as well as live Photos! Close both apps in this way and you won't have any problems again! Finally, you have to keep in mind that all options on iPhone cameras can vary depending on which model of iPhone you're using. For example, such settings as Live Photos or Portrait Zoom on iOS 15 may be different from the ones on your iOS version.

It is usually a problem with the iPhone itself, one that Apple should take care of. In order to get around this, just close the Camera app in the right way: By sliding it to the left and right rather than closing it by pressing Home button. This way you can keep your iPhone camera settings app from resetting when you close the app!

If you find out that your iPhone camera app keeps closing immediately after exiting, try this: Go to your "iPhone camera settings app" icon on your home screen and open up the Privacy menu. Find Camera there and slide the switch to "ON". That should solve this problem!

Comments:

Oh my god I love this tip. I pretty much always try to record video in 4k 60fps on my iPhone 11 and it bugs the crap out of me having to change that every freaking time I go to record a video of my kids!

Very glad the setting for Night Mode is coming. It turns itself on more and more these days (maybe I’m out more at night) and is definitely frustrating to have to turn it off each time I open the app.
