The claim that no modern games will do 120 and so 60 is enough is already being proven wrong and we’re not even a month in yet. Every new game with a competitive mode is shipping 120FPS support. It’s the equivalent of 60FPS was last gen - reserved mostly for shooters and multiplayer modes, but reasonably common nonetheless. If I were buying a new monitor right now I’d consider 120FPS a requirement. And honestly, I wouldn’t settle for anything less than 4K 120FPS because the console upscalers will always beat those in the monitor, and that will become especially true when AI upscaling starts making its appearance in console games, which feels inevitable.
